The list shows chipset (Am I right?)and tried to googled few of them and get confused. Is it possible to give me actual brand name (few)? I think I will buy another usb card which is compitable with my WDTV 2g. I will appreciate if you provide me some brand name so I can go and buy the same brand. I like to make my WD TV up and running before chritsmas!

Sorry about noob question.

Thanks!

I just purchased Buffalo (WLI-UC-GN) usb adapter with version 2.10. I think it is with rt2870 chipset. I tried with my wd gen2 but still no luck accessing my network. Is it compitable with WDTV gen2? I will appreciate if some one atlest reply my post.

Thanks!

Thank You.

Here is Vid:Pid : USB\VID_0411 & PID_014F\1.0. Here is my net.config

#
WIRELESS=TRUE

## ********* !!!!!! NEW !!!!!! *********
## if you do not know what driver your network device uses
## then uncomment the line below and the driver will
## be automagically detected. You still *HAVE TO* set
## WIRELESS=TRUE or WIRELESS=FALSE
## along with any network settings you require
#
#network-device-detector
#######################################################
#######################################################
############# WIRELESS SETTINGS #######################
#######################################################
#######################################################

#################### DRIVERS ##########################
## Enable ONE driver below depending on your wireless adapter

## for rt3070 wireless adapters:
#modprobe rt3070sta

## for rt8192 wireless adapters:
#modprobe rt3070sta

## for rt2870 wireless adapters:
modprobe rt2870sta

----I also tried with either way by selecting "network-device-detector" or "mobprobe rt2870sta".

I hope it will be help. Thanks!!

rt2870 driver has been superseded by two other drivers, rt3370 and rt3572. However the vid:pid from that dongle is not in any of the available drivers in the firmware

Thanks. I purchased because WD website says it is compitable with "WD Live media" and I assumed that it will also work with WD gen2. Anyway, I am buying "WD Live Media Player" so I can use with my new player and I am sure that will be ok. But as I said for my old WD TV gen2,I almost tried 3 different types of USB adapter but no luck. Can you suggest me which brand (cheap brand)should I go with?

Thanks again b-rad.cc and Happy New Year!!
