Problems with Samba

Postby arfgh » Thu Feb 11, 2016 5:35 am

i have problems with the samba server, and then i wanted to stop its daemons. Using the
/etc/init.d/S97samba stop

and that command end with error. I wanted to fix it but unfortunatelly the system is read only. So then, how can we fix some script error or some problem if the filesystem is RO ?

I know that i can use a root.bin of the same firmware, and then i have a RW filesystem, but, one the fix is done, how to convert that root.bin into a flasheable firmware ?

thx in advance

Samba keeps its configuration somewhere in /tmp (it gets generated at startup from bits in /conf and a standard template). You should not need to overwrite things that are readonly. Tell us more what you want to edit or what the problem is. Check /etc/init.d/S97samba and see where it load the configuration from.
