I'm sorry, I can't tell you what's wrong with that file. You can try to play it with stock 1.05 firmware and see if it plays (and then it must be the firmware's fault). If it doesn't play with 1.05, but it plays with 1.06, then you're out of luck for now. 1.06 wdlxtv firmware is still under construction (been paused for 4 months now) :(
You can also try to play it from a USB stick if you're playing from the network

If you search the forum you can find an official 1.06 firmware that you can run from a root.bin, without the need to flash it.

Thank you for the link... But also with this version i've the follow message with all the last film that i try to play:

"Unable to play the selected file. Please refer to the user manual for a list of supported file formats"

There is no way to resolve this error?

Well, in that case you won't be able to play it on the WDTV without transcoding it to a supported format. Look in the WDTV's manual for supported formats.

Please excuse me if this question was asked before (I spent some time on the forum and I couldn't find satisfactory answer) : how to try latest wdlxtv firmware when I have WD TV Live which has original firmware release 1.06.43.
I've tried to put the wdlxtv on the USB stick as per instructions - but it seems detect the firmware on the WD TV Live is 1.06.43 and does not want to overwrite it. :(
Even some option to "boot" temporarily WD TV Live in wdlxtv firmware would be sufficient for me, just to test it (and restart WD TV Live back to stock firmware).
Probably there was some discussion about this - so please excuse me and just point me to the right dirrection.
Thanks!

jakeb:
The answer is probably in the installation instructions, the first link on the first page of the WDLXTV WiKi. The links under How To Install and Uninstall have the details. Most likely you didn't edit the .ver file to make the WDTV think it's a later version than what is already installed. Or your flash drive isn't formatted to FAT or FAT32.

BTW, you can't temporarily boot WDLXTV with official FW installed but you can do that with any recent version of WDLXTV installed, to try out other versions (even official versions) without installing them. Look for "Non-flash" or "Ext3 Boot" for info.

Thank you very much for your answer!
I have just managed to put latest WDLXTV firmware on my WD TV Live HD.
So far, everything works except Youtube - but I saw it requires some patch. Will try to install a patch, of course.

Thank you once more for your help!
