DVD navigation won't be supported (officially) by the WDTV Live, but is coming a new firmware update to enable MediaFly:

NETFLIX streaming support Status: Unplanned
by Raster99 on 12-02-2009 09:29 AM
Support for instant play streaming of movies from Netflix.
Status: Unplanned
Update: Unfortuantely supporting Netflix is not possible on the current WDTV Live platform. This requires additional hardward component and content protection mechanism. We understand this is a very hot idea and we will keep this in mind for the future.

GoogleTV can stream anything from the net - wait for that ;)

Scott Rader said later today - though no word on whats in it. It could be some nonsense like its now displaying Mongolian subtitles properly (with respect to our Mongolian brothers! )

It can play content from USB drives - if your device presents itself as a USB drive then it works - on the normal live as well - I plugged in my (non IPhone) phone into the WDTV Light and it would display the pictures straight from the phone.

Presumably they have to pay a license fee for the DVD structure, so it probably won't (though its about time they sow some goodwill in the community, so they really should). Only hope for that is of course that the website is known to be wrong
