oh, that's good point to say something to have it clear. i've done this firmware for me!
it is like this to suits my demands. i've spent a lot of time, my family time, nightime to
have this working as expected. that's obvious i decide to share it to this community to not
only get but also to pay back for making this player the top one.

if you like it then fine, if not then you have a lot of options

Technical part:
This is not correct.

Every WDTV firmware (official or modded) saves resume points of the videos, so you can continue watching videos where you stopped.
Normaly this information is lost when you reboot or power-off the device.
WDLXTV adds a feature to save these resume points persistent if you create a file called video_resume_point_table on a connected USB drive. This means WDLXTV even extends this feature to survive reboots/power-offs. If it's not working that way that would be a bug.

If you don't want this feature atall, all you have to do is to make sure you have an empty video_resume_point_table on boot.
You can also delete the file and create a new, empty one during operation to delete resume points that just got saved in your current session (if you already had that file on USB during boot).

Attitude part:
The way dzebrys reacted is due to your behaviour!
You come here, state some (not really correct) things and just say: Fix it!
If you had asked nicely if this is really an issue and if this could be fixed (or needs to be fixed) I bet you would have gotten a very different, more kind reply.
We are not slaves to serve YOUR needs.

Cmon guys I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. I think you all are doing a great job.
The problem is that it is quite difficult to find some stuff here on the forum from the first, second and might be 15th try if you haven't spent a while (a lot) with WTLXTV - too technical. Trying to read now - I wasn't following the forum for one year.
My question was not about saving points but about selection buttons you get when you opening recently viewed file - this firmware and official ones have "restart" as default where IMHO "resume" is more logical. I will change it myself if it possible ofcause.

i think it is related to Picto OSD. the official-custom frmwr uses PsychoOSD.
you can check it by loading Psycho osd bin to usb drive and reboot.

i'm not using restore points, so if you think this is sth important and good to implement
then dig it and send me solution. i'll integrate it someday.

As far as I remember all my WDLXTV versions have the 'resume' option as default and offer a 'cancel' button to watch from start, but I will double check.
I'll have a look if there is an easy way to change the default one.

I have v1.05.04.WDLXTV_LIVE-0.5.1.1 loaded on my wdtv live - and an rtorrent library that I don't want to have to set up again...
-would I be able to get this same setup just by installing picto, MN and webplayer onto my box and avoiding a re-flash that would reset my torrents?
-if not, would I need to go back to v1.02.21 to flash this custom firmware?
-if I do flash this firmware, is there any way that I can retain my torrent library so that I don't have to add each one again?
