1.02.21.WDLXTV_LIVE-pTHC-MNV4 (Early XMASS UPDATE FIXED)

Postby zmiki » Fri Apr 22, 2011 9:33 am

Hi here is new version of WDTVLive_1.02.21_0.5PsychoTHC_MNV4 for test and use

Made a flash version with latest kernel (wdtvlive.fff) but fakeUSB is not working see http://forum.wdlxtv.com/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=4674&start=10#p42397 so I will try to use older kernel fakeUSB should work but no 3TB usb disk support and no swap file support

link for new XMASS FLASH version with fakeUSB support
Firmware base: 1.02.21 0.5.1.1 with updates from svn up to rev 1006,
Languages: latest from bovirus
UI Mod: psychoTHC_1.05.04_v4 (10-25-11) adapted for 1.02, (some of the features from jumbalaya mod for 1.05 firmware
11 backgrounds, colour thumb frames etc. can be changed from WEC without reboot)
Plugin MN4: from svn (edited with WEC config*, removed TV support,
removed MN from audio play, so icons for repeat and shuffle are now working, icon for play mode for video is shown in lower left corner
if you want it to stay on you should press options and info button),
Plugin Weather: v. 0.5 rev 165
App: fakeUSB integrated (start and stop from WEC Main Page)
Link: https://rapidshare.com/files/1036535117/wdtvlx_xmass.rar

*Note: MNV4 directories for mn.config(/tmp/conf), mn.resume(/tmp/, DSLITE.dslite(/tmp/conf) and subtitle languages for download can be set from WEC. But I think one should only change path to mn.resume
Fake USB is there so you can xmount your network shares without any USB disk connected to box.

Thanks everybody for making this possible specialy SoulReaver for testing and bovirus for providing ftp for download

I checked this out and it looks amazing. I like a lot the look and also the integrated plugins (but I haven't been able to use any of them). I noticed you have to choose a device to create the plugins folder, If I understand. But, then, after downloading them, does the configuration has to be done via WEC? (not at home now, I'll check soon)

zmiki wrote:notes:
mn.config and mn.resume in /conf
*.sublang should be created in /conf

lastly, I don't understand the note.

edit: [maybe there is some info / tutorial page explaining the plugins system that I'm missing... sorry]

Thank you very much for your great work!

@dentex
integrated plugins are in flash so there is no need for directory on usb device (you can power off devices when in standby).
for plugins to work they have to be only enabled through the WEC (after enabling reboot) (do not download plugins, nor create directory on any device for them).
about the note: mn.config and mn.resume are created in directory /tmp/conf (/conf).
*.sublang file should be created (telnet/ssh to wdlive and run cmd : cd /conf, touch en.ita.sublang;) this will filter only english and italian subtitles for download.

thanks zmiki, and sorry for the late answer, seeing now the thread. :)

All clear but one thing:
in the plugins entry from the OSD root menu, I see something about creating a user folder, together with the useful "reboot" feature (I'm not @home now).
The first time I ran your FW version I saw also some other entries regarding various plugins; It showed AFTER creating the user folder.
From the second time on, I was not able to see those entries any more, although the folder was successfully created.
Could it be because I switched between various attached USB devices?
