With wdtvext=off works weel. And no, I don't have media library disabled. Should I disable it?
I'm not using net.mounts. I only have a samba share (read/write) to share /tmp/media/USB for me to have access to my wdtvlive connected drivers from PC.

yes, as i said disable the media library, it can make problems. and if i unterstand you right, you want to play your files from the connected usb hdds. then delete the ".wdtv" directory in the root of your usb hdds.

Ok, I'll try it later. I'll post here if everything went good.
Thanks.

I am doing the updates via svn (I am using .rootFS, and of course use svn if it is not flashing the firmware. My problem is svn doesn't download S00custom-options file (obviously, since it is not under /), but I would like to have it as well. So my question is, is there anywhere that I can download it as well (I mean I don't want to download the whole release, since I already have the updates. I only want to download S00custom-options as an addition)

you're lazy :)

Code: Select all
#!/bin/sh
##
## in this file you can enter commands that will be executed with the init.d scripts
## typos / syntax errors will prevent the osd from booting
## this file is only executed if it is at the root of an attached device at boot
##
## this file is executed when the wdtv starts/boots up AND when /usr/sbin/resume is called
## so operations placed here should not be adversely affected by multiple execution
## the above applies if you utilize /conf/S00user-script as well
##
## several examples are provided below, uncomment (delete #) them to use
##
## config_tool commands only need to be executed _once_ then they can be re-commented
## ***NOTE*** commenting a config_tool command does *NOT* disable it
##            you must change a setting back to default manually
##
##
##

## change background image between 3 stock options, or arbitrary location
## background image **CAN NOT** be larger than 512KB
##
## the following three images are included in the firmware

#config_tool -c BACKGROUND_IMAGE=original_bg.jpg
## eM82's backdrop background:
#config_tool -c BACKGROUND_IMAGE=eM82_bg.jpg

##
## To set an absolute location:
#config_tool -c BACKGROUND_IMAGE=/tmp/mnt/123ed956-1256-4825-9e79-86fc1e0febaa/random/location.jpg
##
## You can also supply an image, on an attached device at boot (like S00custom-options),
## which is 1280x720 and *NO* larger than 512KB named villa_bg.jpg and it will be used as the custom background
## *ONLY* villa_bg.jpg will work in this method, and *you may remove the device if you desire* after the background has been loaded
##

## change screen saver image between wdlxtv & original WD logo's, or arbitrary location
##
## wdlxtv logo
#config_tool -c SCREEN_SAVER_IMAGE=screen_saver.png

#config_tool oc SCREEN_SAVER_IMAGE=screen_saver.orig.png
## some random location (absolute)
#config_tool -c SCREEN_SAVER_IMAGE=/tmp/mnt/123ed956-1256-4825-9e79-86fc1e0febaa/some/random/screensaver-image.png

Hey that's great and thanks for that.

But indeed I am not lazy, I've already downloaded the firmware, and extracted it ;) But my problem is, why should I download a 100+ MB file (every time) just to grab a 20KB file, while all the delta of the two releases were already updated by svn ?

Ok... I may be a little bit lazy..

After upgrading to 0.4.2.2, usb-power off option doesn't work. Is there another way to do that, or should I downgrade?
Thx!

As an idea (it worked for me when my S00options file didn't), pull up your SSH terminal and type the command in by hand

config_tool -c USB_POWER_OFF=1

Then test the results. You may want to reboot first.

Just an idea from a noob.

Thanks a lot, I'll try it! Btw, is this a known problem with the newest fw, or is it just on my device?
P.S. I guess it is not only on my device, I saw one more user with the same problem on this thread...
