First you must have a folder on your USB device that's called .wdtvext-plugins. This folder must be made in dos with de command prompt (cmd).
Second i used a other OSD (osdmodlive) that also seems to be a problem.
If you make the folder and reboot you will see new icons as well. And the sheets will work then.

No i have only 1 others problem my Movies don't play anymore with xmounts.
Has anyone a idee?

I had already created the .wdtvext-plugins folder and rebooted without any change in behaviour before I posted. Sheets wouldn't work and neither would xmounts. I'm back to 0.4.2.0 for the time being and all the things I was having problems with (ie sheets, xmounts, plugins) all work as they did before. I really want to move to the new FW to take advantage of some of the new features, so I will probably try to monkey around with it some this weekend if I have the time. If I am able to come up with any solutions, I will be sure to post back here. ;)

Hi,

I have an external usb disk. The disk contains a XFS partition (1To) with my movies. The partition seems to be mounted because I can read or write file via ssh connection. BUT on the TV I cannot access to the disk (not visible). The USB device is detected on the TV interface. When I add a USB key with FAT32 partition, the device is visible on the TV.
Any idea ?

I have the exact same error message. Has somebody any idea what this can be?

This is for 0.4.2.1

Make the usual /conf/umsp.php which contains

will automatically pull all the restricted-plugins from svn (so that you'll have the latest version) and put it automatically into /tmp/umsp-plugins.

Now everytime you turn on your wdtv live, you'll have Tube8 as part of your UMSP channels. Thanks to thn for giving me the idea for using S99user-script.

Thanks for that! So I'm assuming that the tube8.php file mentioned in the thread resides in the svn? Would that be correct? So, if I ever wanted to add any other plugins to the UMSP, I would just need to edit the /conf/umsp.php file to include their id and such? Unfortunately, until I can get to the bottom of the other 2 issues I was having, no moviesheets and no xmount, I won't be moving to 0.4.2.1. :(

I am obviously missing some basics, could you please explain it a bit more to me: you said "make the usual /conf/umsp.php" - when I try to create file umsp.php in /conf/ folder via web frontend, I receive error message: "file could not be created".
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance!

Just some observations from a regular user. I don't use any of the power features like web torrent, or samba, or nfs or any other unix word that comes to mind. ;)

- As soon as I updated the firmware, I immediately ran into the videos not playing from my xmount (the spinning circle of death). The "ro" option in xmount did not work. I didn't want to reset permissions on all my shared folders on the PC, so I did a factory reset on the new firmware. Now the same xmount file that didn't work before started working.
- The mounted folders now show up under "USB2" as opposed to "Folders" in the previous version in the Local Drives menu.
- Movie sheets also didn't work out of the box. All my sheets are located on a single folder (due to a feature in the previous version). This version, the sheets can also be in the same folder without anything special. But I had to force the moviesheet location path for the sheets to show up again.
- Bootup time (forced reboot) of the new firmware is considerably longer than the old one (by maybe a couple of minutes). And this is after the factory reset.
- Movie sheet scan time is really quick - something I know I will enjoy.
- Occasionally on a forced reboot the unit looses its mind and does not process the net.mounts file correctly, causing me to not load some folders. But I don't reboot that often, and once everything is working ok, I hope the usual power down and up will work solidly.
- The plugins took some time to figure out. I had the .wdtvext-plugins folder in the USB stick for about 10-15 minutes before I saw any available plugins to download. One of them (Media Folder) made me completely lose my path to the mounted directories, but maybe I wasn't using it properly.
- I'm not sure if this was available before, but in the UMSP apple trailers I can now see the thumbnails! Awesome! I have only partially been able to configure the custom streams, and it took a lot of reading to do that. Makes me wish again that someone would maintain a good wiki.
- And I almost forgot. juliojs's osdMod, which is my all-time favorite OSD is not compatible with moviesheets in this firmware (unless I'm missing something)

Grrr..... not two reboots later, and the spinning wheel of death is back. Seriously. Here we go with another 3 minute cycle while I reboot.

- reserved for some more observations -

with AUTORES=ON many mkv with AC3 or DTS play as normal stereo. not all files, just many.
then, with some lowres video, autores set 576p. i resolved it deleting every resolution under 1080p, because wdlive does a good upscale.
i need the autoframes detection, so i need to keep autores=on. i resolved adding the .conf (found in the autores-0.50.rar) and changing "stereo" with "digital".

in this way i have the frames detection but i can't play AAC sounds. not a problem because i have few of them. i prefer to have always ready DTS and AC3.

so the bug is that sometimes, when the plugin is set in stereo to play AAC sound, does mistakes with dts/ac3.

thanks, i think the autoframe function was the most wanted !!!
