Can anyone provide a easy walkthought guide on install the plugins into the device. I have looked a the USMP/ proxy sections for a while, but TBH, the coding (creating a file) looks above my head...any help would be great.

Checked out Brad's release notes, but can't seem to find the plugin FAQ

Cheers

here you go

1. note you need a thumbdrive or other drive plugged in directly to the wdtv live
2. if using windows go to start menu and in search field type "cmd"
3. run the cmd.exe that is found
4. type "mkdir .wdtvext-plugins" enter
5. close cmd propt and see your folder will be located under your user
6. download whichever plugins you like from plugins section
7. unzip downloaded plugin
8. place extracted plugin inside the .wdtvext-plugins folder you created
9. place .wdtvext-plugins on thumbdrive with any plugins inside that folder
10. connect thumbdrive to wdtvlive & reboot
11.now you should have the option to enable plugins from the wdtvlive onscreen menu
12. enable your plugins and reboot (yes again)
13. see your plugins are now working, :D

maybe later I thought I'd write something up on how to edit the autores.conf for those that need it, we'll see if I get time later today

Thanks buddy.

I will test out night!

Hi guys,

Nice work b-rad, thanks again. :)

I have an USB powering down problem here. Dunno it is a 0.4.2.1 problem, or just I have something wrong here.

Torrent and nzbget are disabled of course, but when i'm powering off the device via the remote, the attached HDD is still on (WD Passport, 3,5).

I've set config_tool -c USB_POWER_OFF=1.

Dunno whether im using optware/root.bin/any app.bins/OSD themes.

What should I check?

Thx in advance!

Tom.

Thanks for all the work - B-Rad. The new release is excellent. I've noticed the Power and Status LEDs now turn off while videos are playing. Is this one of the new features or a bug? I didn't see it in the Release Notes. Either way, I like it.

first you should give it some time (if the dialog displays download), svn is quite slow and there are propably quite some ppl trying it right now.. ;)

Should "download" show only when a usb device containing the pluging folder?

Can't seem to get download backup. it shows reboot, reload and disable. I have no apps in the folder.

Having a couple problems after upgrading

1 - My moviesheets aren't working at all. The thumbs show for the titles, but no movie sheets. And no flashing indicators on the WDTV on first boot (which I'm assuming is cause linksheets was disabled). I know that msheetmode is active because my thumbs display along the bottom of the screen. Any ideas?

2 - My xmount is no longer working. I have this in my net.mounts file just like I did with the previous version. Any clue as to why it isn't working anymore?
xmount "//192.168.0.105/content" "Content" cifs

Also have a question. How do I go about activating some of these plugins in the plugins folder? I see some things like the G4 Trailers and such and would really like to activate those but I have no clue how to do that. Also, how would I go about adding and activating a plugins such as the Tube8 Plugin? I had this installed when I was running 0.4.2.0 and just used a bind command to link it to the bliptv script. I'm assuming that isn't necessary any longer, but I don't know how to proceed with adding it (the usmp.php file or the tube8.php file).

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks in advance!
