Very slow mount usb drive (many files?)

Postby zinger » Sun Oct 12, 2014 8:45 am

Hi.
I't always mounted usb drive after 15 minutes.
Could it be the fault of a large number of files on it (2tb wd passport)? (images / backups / music / movies / and others)?
Can I move all the folders into one folder and turn it off to scan?
I would leave only the folder with videos!
Is it possible to create some '.noscan' file inside these folders I do not want to scan? :)
Regards.
Sebastian

PS
Somthing like '.wdmc' ?
Can I put this only once ?

You can disable media library in wdtv settings.

I tried to fill in a reply in this topic...
Nothing happened too

On a serious note: do you happen to have linksheets configured which crawls your disk too in search for moviesheets? You'd see a blinking led, but as far as I know, you still can browse your USBx\Harddrive.

Can you ssh into your WD TV, and post the output of the "mount" command, so we can actually see if the disk gets mounted correctly?

Thanks!

Type "mount" at the command line, preferably without quotes, then press this big large key on your keyboard called ENTER, sometimes called RETURN.

Then select the output of that command with your mouse, and paste it here.

Something like this should appear:

Code: Select all
sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime)
proc on /proc type proc (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime)
securityfs on /sys/kernel/security type securityfs (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime)
cgroup on /sys/fs/cgroup/systemd type cgroup (rw,nosuid,nodev,noexec,relatime,xattr,release_agent=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd-cgroups-agent,name=systemd)
grandmother on /family/gardenhouse type female (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relative)
cgroup on /sys/fs/cgroup/cpuset type cgroup (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime, cpuset)

Maybe you also got some relatives stuck in it!
