Will wdlxtv do what I need?

Postby kturcotte » Tue May 22, 2012 7:59 am

I generally like my Western Digital Live Tv Plus, but wish it could do some other things as well. I rip my DVDs and Blu-Rays to my NAS, and would like to be able to play those back using my WD Live Tv Plus without any problems, including the high resolution audio. Also, sometimes I rip JUST the movie, and sometimes I rip the ENTIRE disc. Can the wdlxtv firmware play these back just like if I had slipped the disc into a player (Full menu, play with options, etc)?
Also, WD just updated the player so it can playback VIDEO files in a folder in a random/shuffle fashion. Will I lose this feature (This is a MST HAVE feature for me). I just checked, and I'm running firmware version 3.04.17 Any problem flashing this?

the plus can use DVD menu's
Blu-ray menu's not possible

playback is not a problem, you'd have to be more specific on what your problem is

WD has always been able to randomly play files from a folder (well sort of, it tries to randomize them)

3.04.17 is not a valid firmware version, so who know's what you're on
