Postby meelisr » Wed Jan 04, 2012 5:28 am

Hei,

I'm totaly noob about wdlxtv
I need mount my ftp server to wdlxtv to stream my movies outside the house (without taking the external hard drive).

So i dont understand exactly how to xmount ftp:// to wdlxtv.
I run Filezilla server and everything working perfectly. Port route is ok and so on.

I'm very pleased if someone can write quick guide.

Regards

Hei, Again

So i changed wdlxtv config

Net_Mounts_/conf Mount entries on /conf (Flash) To: xmount "ftp://192.168.1.104" "TESTIME" ftpfs "-o user=meelis:test"

And also Net_Mounts_sda1 Mount entries on sda1 (Port 1) To: xmount "ftp://192.168.1.104" "TESTIME" ftpfs "-o user=meelis:test"
After that i restart the wdlxtv and still nothing happened. At file management i see extra devices what is at usb drive and thats it.

Is this shoulbe be going to network devices?

If i go with my computer to ftp://192.168.1.104 then i can log in to ftp.

1. Use either net.mounts in /conf or on USB drive, using both at the same time with the same content makes no sense. (Start with net.mounts on USB drive only!)

2. xmounts appear under Local Drives (USB) NOT under Network Shares.
This is stated at the very top of the wiki page in bold as an important notice...
Code: Select all
To see NFS/CIFS/CDROM/XFS/ReiserFS/NDAS devices, you must either:

have a supported drive/flashdisk plugged in for xmounts to appear under Local Drives -> Folders

3. If your net.mounts file works you should see something like Mount point: /tmp/media/usb/TESTIME in Mount Table in webend)

According to the wiki documentation it should be:
Code: Select all
xmount "ftp://192.168.1.104:21" "TESTIME" ftpfs "-o user=meelis:test"

Also it's always a good idea if you have problems with net.mounts to test the xmount from telnet/ssh first.
