Code: Select all

##
## in this file you can enter commands that will be executed with the init.d scripts
## typos / syntax errors will prevent the osd from booting
## this file is only executed if it is at the root of an attached device at boot
##  *** NO REFLASH IS REQUIRED: S00custom-options is executed EVERY boot ***

## several examples are provided below, uncomment (delete #) them to use

## config_tool commands only need to be executed _once_ then they can be re-commented
## ***NOTE*** commenting a config_tool command does *NOT* disable it
##            you must change a setting back to default manually

##
## NOTE: THIS FILE IS FAIRLY DEPRECATED AND NO LONGER CONTAINS EVERY OPTION
##  YOU ARE RECOMMENDED TO NAVIGATE TO THE WEBEND AND USE THE WLDXTV CONFIGURATOR
##  SIMPLY ENTER YOUR WDTV'S IP ADDRESS IN YOUR BROWSER AND L/P IS:

remove MSheet.app.bin and event-osd.app.bin, those files are for Gen1 and the features are included in WDLXTV.

Re: WDLXTV LIVE Firmware Flashing

Postby Michael P » Sat Nov 10, 2012 9:06 am

Dear All,

I just purchased 3 WD LIVE Players
and 3 Kingston 16GB flashdrives (FAT formatted already)
I downloaded the new firmware/software: 1.05.04_V_WDLXTV.COM_WDLXTV_LIVE-0.5.1.1
and put the .fff, the .bin, and the .ver file on the flashdrive.

1)
I put the stick into the WD Player, plugged in the power cord, no firmware update menu appeared.

2)
I tried to re-format the flashdrives,
first with a Macbook to Fat32 (i am a Mac User)

3)
I changed the .ver file to
VERSION='1.20.04.WDLXTV_LIVE-0.5.1.1'
LOCATION='wdtvlive.bin'

still no firmware update menu appeared.
i always unplugged the WD device before connecting with the usb flashdrive.

I can´t install the HP USB program, as I don´t have administrator rights for the
PC I borrowed to do this.
Any hints?
Best wishes, Michael

Re: WDLXTV LIVE Firmware Flashing

Postby hornjo1970 » Sun Nov 18, 2012 5:28 am

Confused.
Need upgrade help.
I have a WD TV Live, WDBABX.
As per the web end interface, I am currently on 1.03.49/0.4.5.3.
It also shows the latest version as 0.5.1.1.
I found 1.05.04/0.5.1.1 in the firmware page.
Can I just add the 3 files to a USB or do I have to rename?

Thanks.
