WDLXTV LIVE Firmware Flashing

I'm trying to flash the wdtv live but somehow it isn't able to read the any homebrew firmware. I tried to see if the media player that I bought was supported or not (http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=330). When I looked at the machine it says WDTV Live Streaming but I'm still not sure if it is exactly WDTV Live. It starts with different model number than the typical "Live" in that it is WDBHG or something instead of AA. Just wanted to know if the homebrew version is suppose to work with it or not? I followed all the steps with inserting the usb fat32 and even upgrading the version but it is still not able to see the firmware. I'm using the latest official firmware for that machine which is 3.10.xx. I tried all the Live homebrew version but none worked. =(. Any help is much appreciated!

That's the new WDTV Live Streaming (aka gen3), it's not supported by WDLXTV.

Does WDLXTV support mkv 10bit for WDTVLive+ ?

No and I'm not aware of ANY hardware player that supports 10bit h/x264 (mkv is the container, there's no such thing as 10bit mkv).

Ok well this was a long read and I think I got the jist on most of the problems people have been having, so before I try to install the firmware again I would like to ask a question and relay my situation, I have a wdtv g2 I downloaded the latest firmware 0.4.5.3 formatted the usb (fat32) and placed the 3 files on the usb I then safley removed the usb from the pc and plugged it into the wdtv and as the majority posts and instruction had suggested did the hard reboot but no matter how many times i tried the new firmware is not detected. Now I know the fisrt thought is to increase the version number cause my current version is 1.06 and this one is 1.01.77 no problem reformatted the usb again put the files back on opened notepad++ made the change to the higher version and tried it again, same issue nothing. ok now Im thinking could it be the usb, lets try another one nope that didn't work either. Now after reading this forum is it possible that im just not putting the usb in at the proper time? should I be pulling the power cord to the wdtv and then inserting the usb? is it that sensitive? is there a specific order? Im woundering because I noticed that everytime it would fail and i would put the usb back on the pc i would have a new folder on the usb placed there by the wdtv is that the problem? Do th e different Gen's require different procedure's?

1. Download the correct firmware! Since you have a 1.06 firmware on your device it's NOT a Gen2, it's either a Live or a Plus.
2. Read the documentation as it will answer all your other questions!

Ok this is driving me mad, i have spent all day trying to upg the firmware to wdlxtv and i cant get it to work please someone help me i have a wdtv live streaming media player , firmware 1.03.10 i have downloaded the firmware put on a fat 32 stick and reset the unit and it wont do anything no msg to upg the firmware i m using 1.03.01_B-RAD.CC_WDLXTV-0.5.8.1 ive also tried other 1.03.49_V_WDLXTV.COM_WDLXTV_LIVE-0.4.7.3 same problem what am i doing wrong ?

That's the new WDTV Live Streaming (aka gen3), it's not supported by WDLXTV.

awesome back to the shop then and get an older model or will a new version of the custome firmware be made for this new model ?
