1.05.04 wdlxtv beta root.bins

Postby b-rad.cc » Sat May 21, 2011 9:24 pm

Hello everyone,

I just thought I'd drop a note here to say that very bug free beta root.bins of WDLXTV_PLUS & WDLXTV_LIVE based off of 1.05.04 official firmwares are available to donators in the lounge. So peruse on over there and give it a test drive.

Public release will happen as soon as everything is confirmed as bugfree as possible.

This release is a major redesign & optimization, that has had an insane amount of work put into it. So we want it tested before unleashing it on the masses. You will enjoy it, I guarantee :geek:

What I need from a donor is:
- exact paypal email address -- i'm not psychic here and a lot of people don't use the same email address for the forum as they do for paypal. I won't put any effort into matching similar emails.
OR
- date of donation
AND
- full name & donation amount.

The limits are:
* >$5 to get into the lounge & Area 51
* >$10 = online update access
* >$30 accumulated donations for 'Supporter' badge
* >$100 accumulated donations for 'Patron' badge

none of this is automagic, so please pm me if you need this taken care of. cheers :ugeek:

This link donates directly to the project:

Donations greater than $5 get access to the lounge.
Donations greater than $10 get access to the online update server. 8-)

Individual team members also have links in their signatures as well as the 'credits' page in the webend.

Cheers

Donating was the best thing I could have done for my self (and the project). There is so much offered to donators. As B-Rad said, you won't regret it.

Hi,

As all of the forum members I'm curious and impatient to try the latest wdlxtv firmware.
What I'd like to know ahead is if it would implement psychodad's autores functionality instead of the official one?

Best Regards

my guess, not gonna happen

why
psychodad's version of autores, while brilliant, needed complete reworking before it would function on the newer firmwares
since it needs rewriting and an alternative is already available
I don't think anybody is going to work on the project

What is your opinion about the WD's official autores functionality? Personally, I don't like very much the way they deal with the issue
especially at the beginning of the reproduction of a video material and even more at the end!

I can't comment on it, since I haven't tried it, I actually did download the root.bin, but haven't had a chance to play with it
it wouldn't surprise me if it's a bit buggy or in need of improvements, that would be typical with any new feature WD introduced

WD's autores works for me, tho they really need to add a 2-4 secs pause before actually starting playback, because my system needs that time to to resync.
