I have done everything in the instructions but rtorrent still insists i havent set a rtorrent directory. But when I go to the the disk drive, there it is in the root of the directory.

Also my mount tables show both my drives are plugged in, but the box is only showing usb1. usb 2 is where the firmware and the update config files are.

HELP>

I have edited the config file, creatd hte .mnt file, created the rtorrent dir, and I still get this message when I attempt to start rtorrent:

Code: Select all

What did you set RTORRENT_DIR to?
Code: Select all
grep RTORRENT_DIR /conf/config

Oh, and if you can't get this thing into the air, I switched from rTorrent to Transmission which is much more stable than rTorrent was on my WD :-)

I got transmission to sucessfully start up but when i try to access it i get this error, from the browser and from teh wdlxtv web end:
Code: Select all
    403: Forbidden

    Unauthorized IP Address.

Either disable the IP address whitelist or add your address to it.

If you're editing settings.json, see the 'rpc-whitelist' and 'rpc-whitelist-enabled' entries.

If you're still using ACLs, use a whitelist instead. See the transmission-daemon manpage for details.

I need to know where the settings files for transmission are.

Are you accessing it from 192.168.1.64? You can try to whitelist the whole LAN (192.168.1.*)

Tried that, now Transmission works but it won't connect to the swarm.

I've solved the problem by buying a Raspberry Pi. I'm tired of fighting with a machine that's obviously smarter than me.

A RPI is probably a better choice anyway...

Sorry for the late reply EvilWays, was on Holidays! Madady is right, you had to whitelist the computer's IP, but you also need to open (at least) one portforward within Transmission's settings page. You'll stumble upon the same thing on your Rpi.

Good luck!
