Linksheets on WDLXTV (WD TV LIVE) without MSHEETDIR

Hello,

I would like to know if linksheets work without MSHEETDIR set in the config.

if yes, then how can I get it. I read somewhere but I am not able to get to the post / site.

also, I have an issue with the linksheets, where in if I get inside a movie folder, I can see the movie sheet but also the thumbnail for the video file which overlaps the movie sheet hiding part of it. I saw some images here and it only shows the movie sheet and not the thumbnail or any arrow icons.

please guide me.

Please don't double post.
1) Of course you can use Linksheets without MSHEETDIR, in fact it's originally supposed to work without MSHEETDIR.
MSHEETDIR was intended for use with ExtSheet plugin and you need to do some tricks to get it to work with Linksheets.
2) You are mixing sheet mode setup with std mode sheets.
3) All of this is documented and discussed several times (Wiki, LINKSHEETS for IDIOTS, MSHEETDIR migration guide)

I am not sure if I am mixing sheet mode setup with std mode. I used thumbgen with default settings, I used the LinkSheets settings as shown in the Wiki. Nothing worked unless I created a MSHEETDIR (in the external HDD) and rescanned using linksheets command.

Without MSHEETDIR I am not able to view the desired movie sheets.

is there anything else I need to do ?

This is sheet mode behaviour with a sheet created with a ThumbGen template for std sheet mode! (The template decides the looks of templates, Thumbgen settings the filenames!)
Have a look at the screenshots in the wiki and start doing some reading. It's all discussed in the links I gave you.

The reason why linksheets only work when you have an MSHEETDIR on usb is most likely because you configured MSHEETDIR at some point and never deleted it again from config...

I did the reading and I think I am missing out something. When I removed MSHEETDIR I dont see the sheets !!! where as the sheet mode behavior is concerned, I am not sure how thumbgen works I used the defaults and created the files:

And all these are in the folder Movies\Alice in Wonderland 3D\

But then again screwed up

Anyways, I would like to know the directory structure, Im a Bit confused here.

I have a folder structure like below:

x:\Movies
3D_Movies
Movie1
Movie1.avi
Movie2
Movie2.avi

Movie2
Movie2.avi

and so on.

I realized that with spaces int he folder name or media file name, linksheets dont work is that true ?
Also, I changed my WDTV settings to thumbnail mode (Movie Sheets is still in Sheet mode), created the sheets using thumbgen, selecting one of the templates for sheets, I dont see the sheets working, but when I changed the WDTV settings to list mode, I could see some of the sheets for example the 3d_movies was working but other folder were not.
