Video Tutorial: Folder Sheets

Hello,

I've got a problem with folder sheets.

This is my structure on my Synology NAS:


But there's a problem with the folder DVDRips (Divx, Xvid, ...). It should show me the following sheet:

But the WDTV shows me this one:


The folder structure is:

(The DVDRips sheet is the one named: zzfolder_sheet.jpg)

What is wrong?

Change the zzfolder_sheet.jpg to DVDRips_sheet.jpg and move it up one folder. See if that helps.

I cannot get the folder_sheet.jpg to show up in my WDLXTV Live.

My folders structure are in my USB external HDD as I drill down into them:

1. Folders eg Music, Photoss, Videos etc.

2. In the Videos folder are folders named DivX, Documentaries, Music Videos, Movies etc.

3. In the Movies folder are the genre folders, eg Action, Adventure, Comedy etc. Initially I put all the folder_sheet.jpgs into this Movies folder. That didn't work. The WDLXTV Live didn't use these folder_sheet.jpgs as background for the individual genre screen.

4. So I put the individual folder_sheet.jpg into its relevant genre folder. Still didn't work.

The screen just shows rows and columns of the individual movie folders, which when I click on them shows the movie sheets. Then when I push the ENTER button on the remote it would play the movie.

Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

Try doing this: Lets say for Action, instead of putting folder_sheet.jpg in that folder, rename it to Action_sheet.jpg and don't put it in the Action folder but in same folder as the Action folder.

-DIVX (folder)
--Action (folder)
--Action_sheet.jpg

That's what I did.

Movies (folder)
--Action (folder)
--Family (folder)
--Action_sheet.jpg
--Family_sheet.jpg
--Movies.jpg

The Movies.jpg is a thumbnail to represent the Movies folder.

I also tried putting these xxxxx_sheet.jpgs into their individual folders but it still wouldn't work.

Is there a setting within the Linux coding (edit using telnet) that needs to be changed? IIRC I'm using moviesheets rather than linksheets.

Would have thought that something this simple is easy to grasp!

Change the zzfolder_sheet.jpg to DVDRips_sheet.jpg and move it up one folder. See if that helps.

Shouldn't the name be:

DVDRips (Divx, Xvid, ...)_sheet.jpg

since that's the full name of the Divx folder?

Looks like something happened overnight. Changed everything to what was suggested by the author of this thread and its working ie all the folder_sheets outside their relevant folders. Now to produce some more folder sheets. Anyone knows the link to some thumbgen templates?
