Everything (else) to do with Movie Sheets and homebrew firmware on the WDTV(s), including how the %*#^ do I get them working?

HI new to the forum but have been reading through the posts trying to learn what i can.
So installed the 1.02.21_WDLXTV.COM_WDLXTV_LIVE-0.5.1.1 firmware. made all the movie sheets with the correct file hierarchy. Enabled linksheets because I guess WDTVExt ExtSheet plugin only works on 1.02.21-WDLXTV_LIVE.
My question is with the 'Network Drive' media having the .jpg and .mkv files show up in the folder. where the movie sheet only shows up when scrolling over the .mkv file. I was wondering if a fix or work a round has been made? Or if there is a way I can switch to wall mode mode?
Basically my end goal is to have the movie sheet show up when each folder is scrolled over, just wanted to clarify if I'm doing something wrong with the linksheets or if i should switch to the ExtSheet plugin firmware. will the ExtSheet plugin still show the .jpg and .mkv in the folder with 'Network Drives' used?

Re-read what you wrote, it doesn't make sense. You said you have 1.02.21 installed in your first sentence.

This has been explained a hundred times by now but for the sake of it here it is again:

WD calls this a feature (displaying images under Video -> Network Shares), nothing we can do about this
BUT there are two workarounds:

1) xmount your network shares (Setup xmounts (aka mount remote network shares))
This works on all versions

2) hide the image files by prepending a dot to the filename (eg. folder.jpg => .folder.jpg)
This works with firmwares 1.03+ (NOT with 1.02.21!)

What's the issue? that was the file name of the firmware.

The issue is (form what you posted) that you are already running 1.02.21 firmware and thus can (or even should) use ExtSheet.

my fault I meant to paste: 1.05.04_V-WDLXTV-Live-0.5.1.1. Is 1.02.21 the preferred firmware?

there is no preferred firmware

it depends on what's important to you
see the wiki regarding firmware differences

The only differences that matter for me would be the moviesheets. Not familiar with the ExtSheet plugin and if that will display the moviesheets better than linksheets over a networked drive. Or will both still require me to xmount?

both require either xmount or file hiding.

xmounting your shares and accessing them via local drive will only show the video files, so you won'T need to hide the other files...
WDTV-LIVE-PLUS : WDLXTV-PLUS ver 0.5.1.1 (FW Base 1.05.04)
