Thanks guys!
Just one more little thing...do i check ALL the boxes under the "generate" setting in the General tab on thumbgen or just:

Thumbnail
Extra Thumbnail
Movie Information
Main moviesheet
Extra moviesheet
Main/Extra moviesheet metadata

Thanks again.

Ok this is what I have now. But I still seem to be getting odd file names:

127 Hours folder...

127 Hours.mkv---------media file
127 Hours.mkv.mkv_sheet.jpg---------why the double entry for mkv? Should I remove one?
127 Hours_sheet.jpg
127 Hours.mkv.mkv.tgmd----------same here
127 Hours.jpg----------thumbnail
folder.jpg-------------thumbnail

edit:

ok assuming I do have to rename manually and remove double entries this is what I have:

127 Hours.mkv
127 Hours.mkv.tgmd
127 Hours.mkv_sheet.jpg
127 Hours_sheet.jpg
127 Hours.jpg - thumbnail file
folder.jpg - thumbnail folder

Double entry such as what you had are normally caused because you don't see the file extension in explorer and you wrongly name the file.

Disregard this if you can in fact see the file extension. If not, show it and it may make you life much easier.

Success!

It seems to be working!

Now how do I remove the thumbnail images along the bottom as they seem to be obscuring the moviesheet?

Thanks guys, I'm nearly there! :D

Ok, thanks. Will try that.

Just to let you know...

In std mode with the generic movie sheet do I leave it as: $M\$F_sheet.jpg?
I know the other movie changes to: $M\$N$E_sheet.std.jpg

The problem seemed to stem from the fact that when I checked the files/folders under file management on the WDTV, they showed up as double named.

For example: 127hours_sheet.jpg.jpg

I think I was being extra idiotic by renaming the generated images and adding .jpg on the end. :?

Anyway, will report back on my progress. Thanks for all the patient help so far.

The link to the naming conventions really helped as well. ;)

No need to change anything in ThumbGen. The change is done in the WEC under the OSD tab, Movie Sheets tab, changes are done in there. Save and reboot.

What is WEC? If its anything to do with networking then no good for me. I plug and play my usb hard drive straight into the WDTV.

So if that's the case then my question still stands. I don't use webend. Don't have any practical means of doing so.

Thanks.

WEC = WebEnd Configurator
Accessed via your browser. Type the IP of you WDTV in the address bar.
You could also do this with the S00custom-options file but it is much easier using the WEC.

As I said before I have no means of using webend.

Thanks.
