What do you actualy get when viewing the sheet on the WDTV ?

I always see the cover of the first Movie i've generated a sheet for - followed by the (angled view) covers of the following movies.
But when i switch to the next movie i still see (at the bottom) the cover of the first movie with the angled covers of the following (same as on first movie).
I already deleted everything except the folder.jpg and the movie itself and recreated the moviesheets - still with no luck.

K, i'll try to help you out
but I will need the following info
1. the name of the template you are using
2. the names of the folders that is causing the problems....
3. the version of ThumbGen used
4. 1 or 2 sheets that where generated
a screen shoot of your folders would be great, it will give me the structure, and the names at the same time

PS
My templates works best when its 1 movie per folder, just use template "Buhric - CoverTrickle - Parent Folder( - NoBack)" as the
"Extra" template in ThumbGen. And the file "folder.jpog" MUST exist inside the folder before generating the sheet.

Hey Buhric, thank you for this gorgeous template, really looks great when you have it set up for movies, definitely my default from now on.

However, I'm still struggling to put together the sheets for TV shows. I know you already gave a walk through, but I'm still finding the process very confusing.
Could you put together something step-by-step for this?

its the same process... but heres it is step by step.
Suppose the following show:
Andromeda

the folder structure should be something similar:

1. create a movie thumbnail (moviename.jpg) for each episode

2. create a folder thumbnail (folder.jpg) for each folder....

3. Start ThumGen and
4. make sure the "TheTVDB.com" is the ONLY collector selected
5. click on "Procress File/folders"
6. select the "Andromeda" folder, it should automaticaly select all its subfolders.
7. put a check mark in the filter "only first movie in a folder"
8. Select "Manual Mode"
9. make sure the info gathered are ok ( you can also modify it if you want to have a different info for the Series than for the season)

10. on the bottom right select the "Parent folder sheet" tab
11. Select template "Buhric - CoverTrickle - TV - Series" (or - No back, if you do not want a fanart as the background)
11a. If you did modify the "Plot" for the Series, make sure you click on the green checkmark button
11b. click on the check mark underneath the Cover image
11c. if you do not see a preview of the parent sheet, click on the "refresh" button
12. make sure the "Parent Folder metadata" is selected and click on generate

13. Now click on the "MainSheet" Tab
14a. Make sure that the "Metadata" and "Extra" sheet are slected (button to the left of the "Generate" button
14b. Make sure "Main" moviesheet is NOT Selected
15. Click on the "Extra sheet" tab
16. Select template "Buhric - CoverTrickle - TV - Season" (- No BacK if you DO NOT Want a full screen fanart background)
17. Make sure the Cover and movieinformation are the ones you want for the "Season" folder
18. Click "Generate" (bottom right) - make sure sheet was generated
19. Click on "I'm done here! (go to next)"
20. do step 9 to 19 for all 1st episode of each season

Once all seasons are completed, you can now genereate sheets for the individuals episodes
Do again steps 1 to 9, and on step 7, REMOVE the checkmark on filter "only first movie in a folder"
10. Now click on the "MainSheet" Tab
11. Make sure that the "Metadata" and "MAIN" sheet are slected (button to the left of the "Generate" button
12. Make sure that "EXTRA" moviesheet is NOT Selected
13. select template "Buhric - CoverTrickle - TV - Episode" (- No BacK if you DO NOT Want a full screen fanart background)
14. Generate sheet and do next one...


PS.
You can also use ThumbGen to generate covers, folder thumbnails , movie thumbnails, and autoselect a screen shot for the episode preview...

Hello Buhric,

i got a problem (i am a newbie, bought my WD yesterday ) and could need your help.

I use a modified Version of "Dribblers Template Mega Pack" -> "WD_OrigLook_SHEET" with ThumbGen for the Sheets.


After i managed to Mount my Windowsshare into the WD i get this result with "config_tool -c MSHEETMODE=std"

In my folders are build like this

ok, what I can see has the problem is that you are generating the sheet has the movie sheet....
for my template to work, it needs to be genereated has the "Extra" sheet
so basicaly you are missing "9_sheet.jpg"


The reason why sheets does not show when you are in "std" mode, is because theres no folder sheets....
But they are showing in "sheet" mode because of a "bug/feature" of the "linksheets" script
when in "sheet" mode "linksheets" script will map every single sheet to 2 things....
1. to its name without the "_sheet.jpg" part
2. to its own folder....

so your 2nd picture shows the movie sheet when the folder is selected...


You can do 2 things... either rename all the sheet you have to eclude the extension; thus "9.mkv_sheet.jpg" becomes "9_sheet.jpg"
or delete all sheets and recreate them via ThumbGen "create from Metadata" and select the "Extra" sheet instead of the "movie" sheet

Thanks for a great looking sheet.
I'm having trouble getting the thumbnails to trickle sometimes the sheet only shows two thumbnails then when moving to the next thumbnail it shows them all.Hope I explained whats happening as I'm totally new at this and only had the WSTV Live for a week

Avatar.iso.sheet.jpg shows several thumbnails at the bottom on some sheets and only one or two thumbnails on other sheets.
I'm using Thumbgen with Buhric - CoverTrickle - Parent Folder - NoBack
Does this need to be set in Main sheet , Extra sheet , Parent folder sheet in process files/folders
On Thumbgen home page what do I set curent profile too I've tried <default> and WDTV Live Movie Sheet

" Buhric - CoverTrickle - Parent Folder - NoBack " needs to be set has Extra sheet to work better....
also all the other folders needs the "folder.jpg" already created. since I scan for them to generate the thumb images...
no folder.jpg... no thumbs....

The ThumbGen profile is your choice... its basicaly used to have different values for the collectors and the different options/naming conventions
you can create your own profile...

I also noticed something... the names you got for the sheets.... it might cause you some problems....
instead of "Avatar.iso.sheet.jpg" it should be "Avatar.iso_sheet.jpg"
instead of "Avatar.sheet.jpg" it should be "Avatar_sheet.jpg"
also the sheet names are CASE sensitive... not sure about the "Folder.jpg" file... if you are still having problems.. try renaming it to "folder.jpg" all lower case...

Thanks for the help Buhric my post had typos so the sheet naming was ok.
Question 1 about Thumbgen Moviesheet Editor do I have "Buhric - CoverTrickle - Parent Folder - NoBack" in all in 3 templates Main sheet, Extra sheet, Parent folder sheet.
Question 2 when adding extra movies folders to my usb drive folder do l need to do them all over again so l get the trickle affect to work ok properly.
I see what you mean by having a folder.jpg in the folders before creating sheets do you just creat thumbnail folders first then go thru the folders to creat sheets next
