There's definitely something wrong with the .NET installation. Make sure .NET 3.5 SP1 is properly installed (note that installing .NET 4 is not enough, they get installed side-by-side).

Yea.. it seems that my .net 3.5 is messed up.
I am on Win 7 64bit home premium. I did have an issue a few months back after a registry clean up program removed more that it should have. Didn't notice it right away though. The only program that is affected is Thumbgen. I tried everyting that I could find on the internet with no luck. The net 3.5 folders are there, it is enabled in the Turn Windows Features on and off setup, There are registry entries for net 3.5, but thumbgen won't run... it did work fine before the "clean up".

I am using my old laptop to work with thumbgen now, but it is realllll slow.

The only sure solution is probably and full reinstall fo windows, but for the one occasional program.. I am just not that confident that I want to tackle that. ANY possibility of getting Thumbgen updated to .net 4? :)
I have no idea of what that entails, but I bet it is more than you want to do, and I completely understand that.

So.. back to the laptop.

Thanks for the replies.

Hi!

I have Version 1.3.2.1 on Win 7 x64 Pro. There's a problem i encounter when using ThumbGen lately:
Some folders are not listed in my movie folder. Especially newly added ones but also some older ones. Refreshing doesn't help.

Any help is appreciated!
Greetings,
Gambrinus.

Could be a "rights" problem? Could u send me a ThumbGen.log after you try few times to open such folders in the integrated file browser?

It is not that i cannot open them, I simply don't see them - they are not listed. So I cannot generate sheets, the only workaround is to generate the sheets for another movie, using the "Adjust Keywords" button and choosing the movie I want to create sheets for.

By the way, the program is not responding very well and searches take long time. A look at the log file makes clear, many pictures are not available (server does not respond, time outs). Seems the cloudfront (Amazon) Service Requests are not working. See an example log file at: http://pastebin.com/i9Ngu80r

Thank you for the tip. The slow search is not a real issue. Just wondering that the small thumbnails take some seconds to load with rather good broadband connection.

My initial problem is still unsolved: Missing folders in the main movie folder. I don't know where they get lost and why and the logs don't really help here. Anything I could do to help solving this?

Greetings,
Georg.
