I am working on a plugin to download videos from a website so that they can be watched later. I wrote the following shell script to download a video to the attached usb drive.
Code: Select all
/usr/bin/wget "$1"  -P /tmp/media/usb/USB1140/6019-BDF4

where video file is "http://www.mediacollege.com/video-gallery/testclips/20051210-w50s.flv"

My Question is how to get the usb name (USB1140/6019-BDF4 in my case)inside a plugin. And how to know whether it is front USB or Back one.

yeah this is a bit of an issue with the smp
USB1140 is the front
USB210 is the back

as for getting location
all usb drives are mounted at /tmp/media/usb/<USBHub number>/<UUID>

so we can get a list of mounted usb drives by doing
Code: Select all
cat /proc/mounts | grep /tmp/media/usb

I use this in the smp xmount, I don't care which drive, I just choose the first in the list
Code: Select all
Drive=`cat /proc/mounts | grep /tmp/media/usb | head -1 | cut -d ' ' -f 2`

and store it in the variable $Drive
