I am trying to see if anyone here is interested in the hard drives themselves. Each drive has a firmware, a service area, and specific vendor codes that can view and edit the non-data portions of the physical drive and the chips embedded on the drive's controller. This has application when a drive has its firmware corrupted, thus rendering the data on the disk unreadable.
Anyone interested in reverse engineering ways to view and edit these parts of the drive? Especially Western Digital drives?
Thanks!
