I have 3 of the new devices and trying to get moviesheets working on them. I've tried to update the firmware but having issues with that as well. Any help is appreciated.

I got the new firmware installed but once I pull the USB it reverts back to the original firmware version. If I can get the new firmware to stay without the usb drive then will need some assistance with the moviesheets if possible.

sounds like you need to do some more reading

the thumbdrive must always stay plugged in, when running this firmware
this is documented in first post of this thread and in the readme file included in the download

Hi,
I have wdbpuf0000nbk-00 and it power on every time that I turn on my multiple adapter.
With this firmware, can I disable this option?

Can you "do" it please? I think 99% WD people hate it.

Greetings...

I'm gonna be trying this out now. At work I've got *SIX* of these players. Previous experience with the old WD TV Live proved that if you set them in auto play mode and just put one video file on the usb storage, they just worked... perfectly... they're supplying looping videos in museum exhibits. So when we decided it was time to remove an old Pop Video Player, we bought six of the WD TV gen4's..... and..... now I want to toss them off a bridge. It's like a die rolls on startup and if it lands a 1 or a 2 it gives the "Cannot play this video" error. It royally sucks. ROYALLY.

Here's to hoping for better stability.....!!!! WD's been remarkably useless with official firmware updates.

Kad, he has a Gen 4 .... not a Gen 3

Also remember 1.01.30-EXT3 and Offical Firmware contains the MP4 bug aka. some will play, some won't

My advice would be to try official firmware 1.02.17 as this fixes the MP4 bug and may fix the "Cannot play this video"

But, personally ... i've never had the "Cannot play this video" message
