Got WDBHG70000NBK with firmware 2.01.86

Tried this kit but my WD stays at 2.01.86 no matter how many times I've tried. No idea why...

the firmware in this thread is based on 1.12.xx

you should look at this http://forum.wdlxtv.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=8707 firmware
it's based on 2.01.86

edit: also I see you posting in UMSP forum
neither of these 2 firmwares have working UMSP

Maybe I'm missing something obvious here, but how does running the homebrew scripts from my pc, put my wd tv live smp player into homebrew mode? I don't see how the script communicates with the player.

Okay, yeah, just wanted to know if it was done over the network, not the actual mechanics....that's all Although, I didn't see any change in the display on the player when the scripts were initiated, so was just curious how it's SUPPOSE to work. Thanks.

Hi, how do I stop the exploit text from showing when rebooting? I tried the stock bat file but no luck.

Hey,

just wondering if someone could help me? I own a WDTV live streaming and I tried to install the WDLXTV Gen 3 and I did everything it said however when I go to system-about to check the firmware it's still saying I have my old original one so I don't think it worked? Is there something I am missing. Please help.

So let me get this straight...
I download the "http://nextdimension.cc/WDLXTV-Palace-homebrew-kit-v2.zip" file, and follow the instructions inside.
I also download "1.12.14_WDLXTV_PALACE-0.0.2.zip" (or whatever version is the latest), and put it in the root of my USB key.
The thing boots into the PALACE firmware, etc.

I guess my question is:
If I ever (at any moment) want to return to the stock firmware, I will have no problem doing that, without ANY permanent "damage" to my WDTVLive?
Also, does this method work with the latest firmware (2.02.32, if i'm not mistaken)?

The reason i'm asking, I bought this thing about 2 months ago, so it's still under warrenty.

Thanks in advance. :)
