WDLXTV Dictionary/Lexicon

Postby lnp00 » Wed Jan 05, 2011 8:06 am

Just a sugestion from a noobie-noob.

It would be nice to have a reference for some of the terms used on forum posts, for example "Webend"

Does such a thing exist, if not could someone post one?

TIA,
Len

It doesn't exist until some of you (the users) start creating one on the wiki.
As we (the developers) stated many times now, we won't take care of the documentation, this is your (the user) part of this comunity.
(Although if a have a look at the wiki history it seems it's mostly the devs putting stuff in there :/)
We (the devs) are already spending a tremendous amount of (our spare time, yes most of us have real lives with real jobs etc...) time in developing this firmware.

If someone cares to write one, I will add it to the FAQ.

As recliq said, it's a matter of resource allocation and priorities. Only the devs can do software development, while any user can write documentation/guides/references. Therefore when we find free time to devote to WDLXTV, development will always come first.

I'd be happy to put something up but I don't have the definitions etc.

It would be like the blind leading the blind, LOL!

Cheers,

Everything can be found on the forums. WEC, for example, has been explained in many posts as being WebEnd Configurator. It's just a matter of collecting all the info together.

I added a Dictionary to the Wiki: http://wiki.wdlxtv.com/WDLXTV_Dictionary
If you register here: http://wdlxtv.com/wp-login.php?action=register you can sign in to the wiki and add terms you would like to have explained (just leave the explanation blank) and hopefully someone will fill in the explanation.
