hi Workingman...

are you still working on the fix of Automove feature? We all hope, it will be fixed soon, but don't forget to prepare also for Christmas :)

Unfortunately no.. haven't had time to even look at it in ages.

Will be off all next week though and should be able to have another kick at the can then.

Hopefully I'll be able to post an update before the new year. Cheers!

So I fixed it.. at least I think I did. My initial test worked so I'm uploading the new version.

I did kind of cheese it by just copying over the original autotools directory from /usr/share/rutorrent/plugins/autotools and dropping that into my app.bin. Seems to work as it should now though. I did test watch directory and move on complete, only once but once should be enough right?

New app is up at the same old link as before:

If anyone finds any issues with this version just reply here or shoot me a PM.

And a Happy New Year everybody!! :D

Hi Workingman.

Thanks for the fix, the problem disappeared...

But now, when I download something, after reaching the 100% completeness, the torrent goes to 'finished' state (instead of starting the seed). Now I click on 'Start', the torrent goes to 'Paused' state. Click STOP and START, than it writes me, that hash check failes, so another downloading needed, it starts to download the missing parts, after that it starts seeding only.

The automove feature is enabled!

My question is, why rtorrent does not start to download the rest of missing bytes after the hash-check?

Thanks for your help!

Hey Ibax,

I really can't say... only that it didn't do that to me. I have seen other posts about things going to paused state instead of seeding or maybe it was magnet link going to queued instead of downloading, don't really remember. Either way I haven't had that problem.

What I have seen is sometimes the state takes a minute or two to change but I never need to make any changes manually. I use autounpack and was always willing to blame the load that puts on the system for the slow update on the web frontend.

Is it happening all the time? Multiple torrents?? I guess it could have just been a corrupted download and maybe something with the way automove works you have to manually start the download again but I am just guessing at this point.

Let me know if the problem persists and if it does I'll do some testing over here to see what I can figure out.

Thanks for letting me know though!

Hi Workingman,

The problem exists, in case of all the downloaded torrents. Unfortunately after each download the torrent goes to 'Finished' state. When I click on 'Start', the torrent goes to 'Pausing'. Click on 'Stop' -> the torrent is on 'Finished' state again.
I click 'Start' once again -> hash checking starts, and when it is finished, the 'Seeding' starts. To summarize:

1) After download -> Finished state
2) click on Start -> Pausing state
3) click on Stop -> Finished state
4) click on Start -> Hash checking
5) after hash check -> Seeding

I think, the required process should be the following:
1) After download -> hash checking
2) after hash check -> Seeding

Thx,
ibax

How are you adding your torrents? Also what filesystem are you using? Are you running the hash check or does it just happen when you restart the torrent?

As I said before nothing like this happens to me so I need to know how you're setup works if I'm going to try to reproduce it.

You are using auto-move on complete right?

lmk and I'll see what I can do.
