can't enable applications

This is the place to ask for how to use software that is (or isn't) included in the various wdlxtv flavours. Questions about software such as rtorrent, NZBGet, sshfs, curlftpfs, ssh, telnet, etc.

can't enable applications

Postby emielm » Wed Dec 21, 2011 6:52 am

I tried to enable applications trough the webend.
But it shows me a choise in the drop down menu "Not installed" and on "SDA 1" when I select sda 1 I can't check the box.
What am I doing wrong?

You can't check the box because it's not installed yet. Once you apply your changes by clicking on the save button, the app will be downloaded, installed, and automatically enabled.

I would actually qualify this as an interface bug, since in the UMSP Plugins tab in the same interface checking the box is what causes the installation to happen.

I was confused by this as well, until I googled and found this thread. In retrospect, the columns are labeled perfectly correctly, but it's surely unintuitive for it to *do* something on one tab and *show* something on another.

Nothing to get one's panties in a wad about, of course ;-)

UMSP plugins have no required installation location, hence the presence of just a boolean checkbox.

The column title is fairly clear IMHO about what's the role of the column. One is for enabling (apps), and the other one is for downloading (umsp).
