NFS and special characters / umlaut

This is the place to ask for how to use software that is (or isn't) included in the various wdlxtv flavours. Questions about software such as rtorrent, NZBGet, sshfs, curlftpfs, ssh, telnet, etc.

NFS and special characters / umlaut

Postby herman » Sun May 01, 2011 9:29 am

Hi All,

I've updated to 1.02.21.WDLXTV_LIVE-0.4.7.3 and have seen, that streaming via Windows share was like a slow motion without any sound / audio.

Therefore I followed some hints to use NFS share for viewing movies over the network.

I've installed HaneWIN NFS server on my Windows PC, and mounted the folders in the WDTV. Now I can see the movies flawlessly ...:)

BUT, all movies wich have special charaters in filename like "plötzlich_um_fünf.avi" are not shown in the directories - how can I bring the WDTV to show these movies in the list? It would be ok to show it like "pltzlich_um_fnf.avi" - but actually they are totally left out...

I already tried to change in HaneWIN settings the "extended charset for clients" (server tab): if I use nothing or Windows charset - the files are left out, and if I use UTF-8 charset, there is no media left at all...

Can anyone help? I tried to search the forum and google, but found nothing helpful :(

Many thanks,
Herman
