UPNP-CMD Web Interface

Postby getout18 » Sun Feb 19, 2012 8:16 am

Hallo,

lg

Please post in English. Maybe 0.5% of the users on these forums can understand what you wrote, but 100% of them can understand English.

oh i'm sorry, my mistake :-)

i have created a php site to control my wd live box with the upnp-cmd script. Currently I can select the movie from my nas via my smartphone, also I can set the volume, seek in the movie or press any button of the remote. So all in all I'm already very happy with my "app", but I have two problems left:

1.) i have some movies with "ä, ö, ü, ß" in the filename and the upnp-cmd command is not able to handle them, is there any solution to this?

2.) the remote buttons rewind/forward or next/previous do not work ("sudo irinject next")... any ideas?

thank you

See how these characters get passed to your command. I suspect it might be because the web server isn't running in UTF-8 mode. Try creating a .htaccess file in the same folder as your script, with the following lines:

Code: Select all
AddDefaultCharset UTF-8
php_value default_charset UTF-8

You can't use forward/rewind remote commands on a file played through UPNP. You will have to control playback using upnp-cmd as well. This is a design limitation of the WDTV itself.

thank you for your reply, but unfortunately creating a .htaccess with your lines in it, did not solve the problem... any other suggestions?

No idea. UTF-8 handling is always a complicated topic, as every single element through the whole chain must be able to handle it.
