I might be doing something wrong here but I dunno what....

I have installed the new firmware and the webremote seems to work from my PC. I can load it and see my movies but nothing seems to play. So maybe something small I am missing.

My next problem is to do the same from my IPpod. I can go the the webend, start the webremote but here the problem gets worst. I can only see the first page of movies (approx 10) and no play/pause or any other button to start a file. I can however use the search function and find what ever movie but can not play it for lack of buttons.

Any ideas what I am missing here?

Thanks

hi, first check if cache directory is properly defined and linked [exp below].
then try to use other browser, sadly this jquery api is device and software dependant.

i'm using MIUI android htc hd2 and it does not fully work for opera and maxthon browser,
do work for system default [MIUI browser].

btw. i've found bug, S97webremote script does not handle linking properly.
so go to /tmp and check if wr-cache is properly linked to what you expect
[usually mounted usb drive or nas].

if not [most possible] then it will use def /tmp as destination. in such case application is
unstable and you can run out of ram memory.

to play you press on the file name, then page shall change and there shall be window with sheet loaded
and below button bar saing play. when pressed page change to "Now Playing" where you have play, stop,
[rewind, ff - not working yet]. see below, unfortunatelly no screenshot with sheet loaded and play bar :(

Tx dzebrys for replying

I get the correct format (your pictures above) on my PC via Webend. Maybe I didn't wait long enough for the movie to start when I use it. My IPod won't work (no buttons) and it won't display the movies. But as you say, it is device and software dependant so maybe it just doesn't like IPod's safari. That is really what I wanted to use it with.

I don't think IPod can use another browser, Apple are pretty particular with their proprietary software.

strange, i've through ip* have native support for jquery.
would not expect it might not work on it.

what you can do is to observe apache logs on wdlxtv when playing with webremote.
tail -f /var/logs/apache2/error.log

maybe you can find the reason from it.

I'm really interested in giving this a try, sounds like just what I've been looking for.

If I downloaded miratas file where do I unzip it to?

Or if I download the updated firmware do I need to back everything up first? I've just installed sanbnzbd, couchpotato & sickbeard.

Cheers

hi mirata,

going to have a look at your script, but in meantime also noticed http://wiki.wdlxtv.com/WDLXTV_MediaLibrary which look nice too.

I played with an 'offline' html solution before http://forum.wdlxtv.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=4881&start=60#p57875 but this one looks nice too.

Eventually, I'd like a simple cover view (for kidz), with movie info & some filtering :)

I'd like to apologise for not replying sooner. Life gets in the way. But I haven't forgotten about this. I just haven't done any more work on the interface since the last post! But my laziness shouldn't stop others from trying stuff I promised to release.

I've uploaded the file to http://dan.who3d.co.uk/files/wdlxtv.zip

Hi Dan,

Just trying :), some feedback:

-Looks like it doesn't recognized unionized mounts.
Code: Select all
xmount .video:.HD_movies USB2/movies union

USB2 doesn't show the movies & can't browse through it.
- firefox does not display the folder image next to the movie name, while Android's dolphin browser does
- it takes some time to display the sheet when not yet cached
- it takes a long time if u have lots of folders & subfolder, or I didn't have enough patience :)

Would it make sense to pregenerate the cache & folder structure at startup (or demand) ?

tx !
