Here are some tips on how to build an app.bin: http://wiki.wdlxtv.com/Creating_an_app_bin
It's easiest to try with an attached USB drive, but it would work as well via NETMOUNTS.

Also - what are the bugs you've fixed in upnp-cmd? I'm sure we could apply the patch in the stock upnp-cmd...

Cool.. I have 0.5.1.1 firmware with base 1.05.04, and upnp-cmd Seek commands always returned invalid argument. After downloading a upnp inspector tool, I found that the parameter names were wrong. This is what it should be..

Code: Select all
function _actionSeek($prmSeekMode, $prmSeekTarget) {
    # SeekModes: "X_DLNA_REL_BYTE" = Bytes Integer, "REL_TIME" = hh:mm:ss, "TRACK_NR" = Track Integer
    $action = 'Seek';
    $args =  '<InstanceID>0</InstanceID>' . "\r\n";
    $args .=  '<Unit>' . $prmSeekMode . '</Unit>' . "\r\n";
    $args .=  '<Target>' . $prmSeekTarget . '</Target>' . "\r\n";
    $result = _sendUPnPCommand($action, $args, 'AVTransport');
}

This project looks really good, I was wondering about something of this nature for quite a while now.
Would like to contribute if possible.

Maybe You can get some inspiration from this:

(remote control through raw TCP port)

Hi!

I'm looking exactly for the same thing... but for Android.

I see that upnp-cmd is "the key" but I don't know how to "send" it to de wdlxtv to work

Can you help me and tell me how do you send the instruction to work?

Thanks and really good work

Hi

I don't know if "use search" is for me... but I was searchign how to do this... and I don't have it clear... that is what I'm asking.

I read the thread again (I was looking previously) and nothing resolved to me...

I need to know how mirata make the request to play, pause, etc to the wdlxtv. I read about upnp-cmd... but I don't know if I need something special to do.

Thanks anyway.

I don't get it, you asked for a way to remote control the WDTV from android, right?
I point you to an application for Android implementing a complete remote control for WDTV...

What else do you need? You don't need to handle any uPnP commands yourself, install the app from market, enter your ip, telnet login and password and you're done.

If you want to know how the uPnP commands work have a look at /usr/bin/upnp-cmd.

Hi again.

I am looking that web, and there are the instructions of the upnp-cmd.

I don't know if I must to create a .php in the wdlxtv, or I can send the upnp-cmd instruction from http and this execute the instruction itself.

Are there a source code that can help me?

Thank you very much.

PS: Sorry about my english...
