Some problem with local .app.bin's and WEC 0.5.*.*

Postby DJArty » Mon Oct 03, 2011 9:58 pm

Hello!
Have some problem with local .app.bin and WEC 0.5.*.* (new ...xml , Readme, version presented into app.bin like a rule says)
1.02.21{1.05.04} - 0.5.1.1 app.bins placed on local USB-flash do not show on WDLXTV Addons Manager -> Applications
1.02.21{1.05.04} - 0.5.1.4 show on WDLXTV Addons Manager -> Applications

But main problem - if press any "Save" or "Apply" no matter where in WEC - local plugins disappear on next reboot.
If setup one time and do not enter into WEC - all be OK.

And one more (but this is another theme) - do not download any app.bins from server. (WDLXTV Addons Manager -> Applications - buttons "Enabled" not active and cant be set on)

Are you running 0.5.1.1 from a .rootFS? I had a lot of problems when running from .rootFS and when I forgot to suid sudo and passwd. The webend would mostly not work.

However, on the flashed version I didn't see the problem...

To install an app.bin, you have to select an install location in the dropdown menu where it says "Not installed". The enabled button isn't clickable because you haven't installed the app.bin yet.

actually just last night, I noticed this problem as well. haven't looked into it, but yes on reboot all my app.bin's show
"Not Installed" and if they were already enabled prior the enabled box is still checked

so when not paying close attention, I choose to Install a local app.bin and then the message at the top says, "disabling devtools.app.bin"
same for any other app.bins that I did not revisit and change the "Not Installed" to the location sda1 or etc..

A loopback-related bit must have changed in the code, breaking plugman since recliq and I haven't changed our code in weeks. Will have to wait for the gypsie dev to come back to look at it.

The issue seems to have been resolved with SVN 627. Try updating your SVN tree - the problem went away for me when I updated to the latest revision.
