Lost WebFrontEnd (SOLVED)

Postby RavRob » Tue Oct 05, 2010 5:57 pm

Out of the blue I lost it. It was there last night. Turned the computer off. Back on the computer tonight but no WFE. I checked the WDTV IP in my Router config and is still valid as it has been for the past months. Dunno what could have caused that.
Windows 10
WDTV Live
1.02.21 WDLXTV 0.5.1.4 (Beta)
Linksys - WUSB600N USB Adapter
DLink - Dir-655 Router

How about telling all the others how you managed to solve this?

Telnet/ssh to it, then run these three commands:

Code: Select all
config_tool -c APACHE='ON'
config_tool -s
/etc/init.d/S66apache2 start

hank RMerlin!

This solve my prob too!
After update fw 4.3.1... Playing with "WDLXTV Config" I lost web frontend after a reboot!!
I might be wrong but by default it seem that "APACHE" was disable after the update because I didn't remember to touch it and kind of saw saw the enable box empty?? I did so much stuff since Im not to sure :D :D :D But what I am sure this definitely SOLVE/SAVE :

Telnet/ssh to it, then run these three commands:

config_tool -c APACHE='ON'
config_tool -s
/etc/init.d/S66apache2 start

Telnet/ssh to it, then run these three commands:

Code: Select all
config_tool -c APACHE='ON'
config_tool -s
/etc/init.d/S66apache2 start

I didn't test but...
It seem that you can chose to delete /conf so all config will gone and your should be back to business or reset to factory setting??

Have fun with WDLXTV!!

Edit:
During the time that I didn't have access to the WEB Guy lol Youtube play correctly??

At this point I'm lost.
Would someone please be kind enough to give me a step by step.
Do I need a telnet app on my win7 box?
How do I "Telnet/ssh to it"? Tia.

Yes you need to either manually type in the proper commands from a DOS box or use a telnet program like Putty to get all the commands needed to make the webend work. I hit the wiki for it that had a bunch of different options for ways to manually type it in or programs to use to make it work.
Try reading this part of the wiki http://wiki.wdlxtv.com/Set_SSH_password, that's the one I used to find what telnet commands and program I wanted to finally get mine to work.
