I just did a full pass over every single locales supported by the OSD, and fixed all the incorrect ones (and added the missing ones as well).

WD was using "ge" for German instead of the usually standard "de", for example.

To fix it, you can create a WEC plugin containing this updated version:

Code: Select all
$wec_options['LOCALE'] = array('configname' => 'LOCALE',
               'configdesc' => "Translation",
               'longdesc' => "Additional languages are available here compared to the OSD..",
               'group' => 'System',
               'type' => WECT_SELECT,
               'page' => WECP_MAIN,
               'availval' => array('en','fr','ge','it','sp','pt_eu','pt_br','tr','ru','cht','chs','kr','jp','su','sv','nl','gr','ca','hu','pl'),
               'availvalname' => array('English','Français','Deutsch','Italiano','Español','Portûgues (Portugal)','Portûgues (Brazil)', 'Turkish','Russian','Chinese (Trad.)','Chinese (Simpl.)','Korean','Japanese','Suomi','Svenska','Netherlands','Greek','Catalan','Hungarian','Polish'),
               'defaultval' => '',
               'displaypri' => 0,
               'currentval' => '');

In other news, the next version of WEC will take care of invalid values found in the config file (and warn the user about it).

Also, two other new features:

o Item display priority. Lets you customize the order in which entries will appear within a group by giving the entries a priority between -50 and +50. Makes the Samba group much cleaner, for example.
o New WECT_DESC type. Lets you insert a block of text inside a group.

Hi,

one question...

If I press "Backup"... Where is the Backup stored?

/conf/config.bak (so it remains in the non-volatile memory of your WDTV).

Restoring will make WEC load the content of /conf/config.bak on the webpage, so you can edit it, and either Save (to apply to the active configuration), or Cancel (to dismiss it).

/conf/config.bak (so it remains in the non-volatile memory of your WDTV).

Will the file overcome a update of the firmware?

Yes, as it's stored in the same non-volatile location as the regular config. As long WD doesn't change this in the future and make the update wipe /conf.

A reset to Factory Default will most likely wipe it (I didn't test it).

Next version just got multi-select input types, and custom function hooks. Using hooks you can now provide your own code to be used to read or write a given setting. This means WEC plugins can now be used to handle any configuration file, not just /conf/config.

For people interested in starting developing WEC plugins that will use the features available in the next release of WDLXTV, here is the latest documentation for it:

http://www.lostrealm.ca/temp/WECPlugins.txt

This is still subject to change before the next firmware release, but this should be stable enough already for devs to start relying on it. The original post will be updated once the next firmware is released.
